Dash logic is from www.Palmerperformance.com . Unfortunately since the cats will be gone the local exhaust shops wont work on it. Might go to some car lots and try to find 09 ish 2500 and see how well they line up. Kind of leaning toward a cut out at the down pipe and just hook up to stock exhaust.

Unless the laws are even stricter for the rest of the US, here in CA they will build you an exhaust if you roll in without cats. They are not allowed, however, to REMOVE cats nor are they allowed to INSTALL cats that don't have a CARB EO#. So as long as you roll in there open downpipe you should be fine. I just had a mandrel dual system built for my brother's 2006 Colorado 5.3L by a local shop. I took the truck there open header, and I was *hoping* they would use the univeral 3" Magnaflow cats when building the system, but they said they couldn't. They could only use cats that had a CARB (California Air Research Board) EO# (Executive Order #) that matched the year/ make/ model. So I have 2 brand new 3" cats I need to do something with lol.

The laws are definitely not more strict here in SD. We have no testing anywhere in the state. He told me if he could see the vehicle had no cats he could not work on it. I will try a different shop tomorrow.

Open downpipe! All those moms shaking there head at that stupid loud truck dropping kids off!!

South Dakota! Come on if I can find a friendly shop here then you definitely should be able to. Go on LS1tech in the regional section and ask where guys are taking their cars to for exhaust. You could also take the license plates off and trailer the truck in. If it doesn't drive in under its own steam, it can be a race/ show/ development truck.

I do think there is a very annoying hole in the market for exhaust systems after the downpipe on 99+ GM turbo trucks. For Christ's sake can you imagine if Vette longtube headers didn't come with mid pipes?

All the turbo kit builders would need to do is offer 1 exhaust system that had a mid section which could use an additional section of pipe so the overall length of the system could be shortened or lengthened for any cab/ bed configuration.

Decided on 4" exhaust just ordered some pipe and universal bends with a magnaflow muffler. Got my injectors. Still waiting for correct dash logic. Hopefully everything will be showing up this week and can get started. Suspense is killing me. I got a dodge i race once or twice a week on my way to work and he always wins. Cant wait to smoke him.

Got a text from Trick this morning sounds like he will have the kit finished up today! Don't think it will make it here in time to start the install this weekend . I'll have time to look everything over and get a game plan.

might try and do part this weekend. Intercooler, and maybe tap the oil pan for the drain if it can be plugged easy enough. That way ill have a good head start for the next weekend. All 5 of my kids have been sick this week with various crap I'm sure to catch something as soon as i start wrenching

The IC would be a good start. Just put some rubber gloves over the ends of the pipes.

Make sure you have a cap if you drill and tap the oil pan.

Sounds good. What size will the return be? 1/2? Got a few 1/2 npt plugs laying around. Do you recommend taping the timing cover or the pan on a 4x4?

Is there a way to install the kit and run 0 boost? Scheduling with the tuner is not working out. He is booked every Monday for a while so my plan to install on a weekend and tune on Monday wont work unless I am willing to wait a month. Just wondering if there is a way to install it and not go into boost so I can drive it a couple days until it goes in for tune. If not I will figure something else out.

will the truck run after I install the 80lb injectors?

Install the kit.
Leave stock injectors in place
And drive very casual. Your right foot will control the boost.
So watch your gauge and take it easy.

Then when you are going to get tuned. Swap injectors there have them load a proper start up tune and go from there.
