Default Tranny and Gauge Advice

Well guys, looks like I might be going with a radix I'm just tired of being slow and I want something that I can really get that SOTP difference. But of course, I've got a few questions.

I will be returning my truck to completely stock and then installing the radix. I want to start over from scratch. I will be running the stock radix pulley and the Superchips tune.

1) Do you think my tranny will last for about 6 months? I've got to recoup some funds and then I will be going with an FLT. I'm sure I'll get on it some but I won't take it to the track and I really don't beat on my truck at all. Truck has 30K on it right now and performs perfect. What do you think?

2) Because I'm going with the stock radix setup at first, are gauges really necesarry? In the future I will get an A/F, boost, and fuel pressure gauges but once again, I need to build some money back up first.

Thanks for any help guys, I can't wait to join the club

Tranny will last in stock form if you do not abuse it much.I returned my truck back to stock also when installing Radix.I have put 10,000 miles on it since with servos and 2600 converter.Tranny has 65000 miles on it with the last 10 being Radix. If you do not put on slicks or do wide open shifts or downshifts all the time it may last a little while.Superchips tune has plenty of torque management and extremely rich so gauges can wait till mods begin.

You might as well keep the exhaust work installed. Too much trouble to remove and you'll want that stuff on there.

Gauges aren't necessary, but the more mods you do and the more you mess with it, its nice to keep tabs on them.

Are you going to beat on your transmission? Hard starts and track time? You can make a trans last for a while, but its up to you taking control of your right foot. If you beat on it, it will not be happy. Adding a shift kit will help keep it from slipping during the shifts.

The Radix is a good choice.
