how much is a tvs1900 now days? I've been thinking about pulling the motor out of my HD for a nice bump in compression along with a cam, intake and converting the dual exhaust to a single 3" to get some better towing, but a supercharger sounds a lot easier lol

The kit is going for about $6k. I got a quote from BEI for just north of $7k. This would include the install and custom tune.

I've learned that I need not change anything, especially the exhaust. A more free flowing exhaust (headers, duals, etc.) will negatively affect torque, which is just the opposite of what I'm looking to improve. Also, the TVS1900 is designed especially for the lower compression LQ4 (9.5:1), so no need to go through all the motions ($$) to increase compression.

true for a F/I setup. for a N/A tow setup, a single 3" will bump low end torque and kill a tiny bit of top end HP. I've always thought the HD factory exhaust was a little overkill for a towing oriented truck. my bone stock HD has as much exhaust as my heads/big cam/nitrous 6.0. (less the headers). I love the true dual sound it has now though. my best guess is the dual factory setup was geared for the 8.0 and worked ok on the 6.0 so they went with it to make it easier? all speculation

didn't want to spend that much on the tow pig hense just milling the heads with a mild cam/ls6 springs with single exhaust.

You got me thinking on this, so I checked.
My exhaust is 3" from each side, going back to the cat then muffler. Then to a single 3.5" tailpipe. (I do have the stock manifolds) I'm guessing this is stock?

Yea, well my TV is my baby, so I don't mind if the performance gains will be there. In the end, I'll have about 1/3 as much into this rig compared to something new, especially a diesel. And then I'll have something unique too.
