Default Thinking about a different cam

So my current cam is not the most boost friendly. Had to rev it to 6900 when NA. and has about 7* of overlap at .05". Was talking to one of my buddies and he offered to buy a cam, give it to me, swap it in mine and I'll give him my current cam. I had PatG spec me a cam, 218/234 .602/.605 115LSA+2, LXL lobes, specced for a 6600rpm shift point. Well I don't want to shift that high so I can run a smaller pulley and shift at about 6300. was looking a Texas speed at the custom camshafts and was thinking about something in the 215/224 range but not sure on which lobe would be best for boost. Just looking for some guidance. Thanks in advance

The Patric G cam looks pretty go to me man, I think id go with that one. The 215 cam would really just be one step behind anywere over 2500rpm id think.

That's a huge split for 317 heads IMO. Was it spec'd for cathedral port heads?

Yes, I gave PatG everything done to the truck and thats what he went off of. My current cam make max torque around 5200rpm. Would like to have it around 4500rpm or so.

That cam should have some excellent low end pull. Run it.

With a pro charger you could run up to 20 degrees of split,
