Default Is There Such A Thing As To Much??

I have a 31"x12"x4" intercooler that will be mounted in front of the condensor. I have a 6.0 sts turbo system with a gt67, 44lb injectors, walbro fuel pump, and running 12lbs of boost. Will my intercooler be to big? I am also using 2 1/2" aluminum tubing the whole wayh back.

too big can be a problem, it just adds volume to your intake system and would probably produce some turbo lag, also your wallet will be thinner......

I can't see why a large intercooler would be a problem? It would just cool better and people ice down the intake to get cooler air. Please tell me what I'm not thinking of here that would make a large intercooler a bad idea. Thanks, Jim

With and air-air intercooler like they are talking about you add more air volume that has to be compressed before the air actually enters the engine. It is like having a train with 10 cars and a train with 20 cars. It will take longer to take up the slack between the 20 cars before the end one actually starts moving.
If a smaller one will cool effectively and get the job done it would be the best one to go with.

So using 2 1/2" pipng will help with the Air volume. The intercooler is 31"x12"x4". Last summer my IAT's were reaching 210 to 240 so i fugured more volume and 2 1/2 aluminum piping would help out.
