Default theoretical speculation. or too much free time

alright im thinking of building a semi-budget remote mount turbo setup on my dd car. problem is its a 1.8L. im looking for thoughts, opinions, ideas or whatever. car currently makes 200hp

my expectations of the car.

1 300-400hp
2 i would like boost to come in around 4000-4500rpm
3 i will run meth
4 pump gas

alright here is what i am thinking. since i dont want boost right away i can use a slightly bigger turbo than normal. at first i was thinking whatever size comes with the sts 4.8 kit would work because its for a 4.8L that goes to maybe 6000rpm, and my 1.8L will go to 9000rpm so it may work but im not sure. since remote mount turbos are sized differently, im not sure how to go about sizing one for my application. all help is appreciated.

your probably want a t2 -t3 turbo. See if you can find one from a factory turbo car similar in displacement.

the 4.8 kit comes with a 60-1 -- too big for a 1.8 remote mount (so is a t70!! ).

When do you want the boost to hit? How much air do you need to flow?

4000-4500rpm. that t70 looks huge but a good price.
