Default Supercharge or turbo?

alright ive got a 96 S10 with the 4.3 auto in it. Ive been thinking about boosting it but I dont want to spend a fortune on it. I know Ill have to shell out some money either way I go. I just want it to be fun and be reliable since it is my daily driver. Ive read the thread on parishs build with the sonoma and I like the setup so far. I know the stock injectors wont hold alot but what I can I do?

Here, read this then post up if you have any questions. This is probably the most asked question in this forum, but once you have decided on what you want to go with and suits your needs, we are happy to help with any questions you have. Glad you are coming over to the FI side, it's lots of fun... but gets expensive very quickly

yea ive been looking at different options i can do and its all expensive especially when you dont make alot. thanks for the thread lead. i read it last week and im still torn between procharger, vortech or the sts remote mount turbo. does the sts need the tap in the oil pan like a regular turbo setup needs or is it self contained?

if your on a budget i would stay away from turbos all together even thou you can find them cheap at times but they are a headache that requires lots of time and tunning to get them done right superchargers are an easy fix but will cost you 2500.00 and up if you find a deal on one.

I am not savvy with the STS setups, so I will let someone else tackle this one...

STS is not self contained, is any turbo? STS system has an oil pump actually with an alarm if it stops feeding oil to the turbo.

For the money, you might consider dropping a 6.0 in there, you can pick those up for under $1,000. Throw a cam in there and you are good to go. You will spend over $2,000 for any sort of forced induction.
