Default Suggestions for sleeper build??

So my original plans was a 5.3 turbo swap for my 07 Tacoma and to make a sleeper truck.

Well the truck is really too nice to do that too and is still under warranty. So i picked up a 96 Sonoma for $600 with a blown motor.

My plans slightly changed as I pulled the trigger on a LQ4 short block. I want to run turbo/s and house them in the bed of the truck. I know this has been done but having trouble finding comparisons. I imagine it would be similar to a STS setup.
Im running a blow thru carb set up facing where the intake tube will come from the firewall side. I am then going to mock up a engine cover and have a fake intake tube and air filter coming out the front..typical LS style short ram intake.
So from the looks of opening the hood it would appear to be a stock ls motor.

So any suggestions on this?
Should I run twins or single because I know the turbo/s being further away will cause a little extra lag?
I will be running a TH400 most likely. Want to be competitive in quartermile and some roll racing making 650-750hp.

I hope you plan to put a lot in suspension work...700hp in a light truck is not going to be easy to hook.

You want a ram-style intake but want it to be a sleeper? Use the stock intake, its fine, or a tbss (87mm tb) intake at most. Also putting the turbos in the bed will be very easy to spot...

I am going to do alot of suspension work. Im pretty much back halving the truck. Im running a narrowed rearend with 11in wide tires and mini tubs.

I dont want a ram-style intake...i want it to appear I have a ram style intake. Im going to make a custom plastic engine cover using some corvette valve covers to go along with it. Im actually going to run a blow through carb.

They wont be easy to spot with a bed cover...lol

I would consider putting some fans in the bottom of the bed then...you need to have some airflow near the turbo, bastard gets really hot. Interesting intake idea... Ive seen guys put on a CAI style intake tube, cut the end out of the filter that is pressed up next to the fender and run the charge pipe through the fender into the filter so everything is hidden. Looks stock and you can keep port injection.

Yeah thats not a bad idea...either.
I will def get some air circulating in the back some how. I have a lot of room to play with because the truck will only be taken out to go race.
Im thinking of cutting up the bottom of the bed pretty good, or install some kind of air duct to allow air flow in and then ride with the tailgate down.
Also considering one of those roll up covers. The idea is to be able to get to the race spot, pull the bed cover back, close the tailgate, and open the hood. Give the impression of stock LSX swap.
Then once the race starts id roll up the bed cover and lay it on. lol

You could always get a retractable cover an put a powered shock like ones for trunks. An wit a switch open an close. But range 6-18" should allow enough air in

Might not be the style you were looking for but you could use an aluminum pick-up truck box and extend it down to the bed. gut it and the bed under it and gives you plenty of room to hide turbos. Intercooling might be hard to hide unless you go water to air.
