Default sts smoking tailpipe

I just installed an sts kit on my truck and it's blowing oil through the tail pipe. The return hose isn't in any kind of bind. my pump is working fine. What else could cause this?

Take off the air filter and see if you can wiggle the impeller shaft on the turbo. If the bearing is shot, you'll be able to wiggle it. That will surely cause some smoke.

Actually, that's not true. Journal bearing turbos are supposed to have upwards of .022 of side to side play (which feels like a lot) as they are a floating bushing type of bearing where the shaft spins in the bushing and the bushing spins in the housing.

My best guess based off the info you have given is that the pump is hooked up backwards and is not pumping the oil back to the motor.

Okay, let me make that more clear...if the bearing is FLOPPY it's shot. I know there's a tolerance, but 05crew's truck ate a turbo bearing due to an improperly set up blow off valve, and he had a really floppy bearing and an oily *** pipe. His had enough play that the impeller was grinding away at the housing lol!

That is definitely too much play..LOL

Check that your pump is going in the correct direction and check that it is going onto hi-speed when you enter boost. Also did you install the check valve at the CHRA where the oil line is attached.
