Default STS owners with air filter relocation kit, Please come in.

O.K so I just got my hose form STS to relocate the air filter to a drier location. I haven't had on bit of a water problem, but it is winter and I figured why not?
I tried putting the filter between the bed skin and box, (above the wheel well) but the filter wont fit, so where do you have your mounted?

Mine fit, but it is tight. I am afraid it is restricting the air too much. I wonder if a sheild or box would be a better solution with some drain holes in it. It could mount right on the turbo. I have something similar for my ATV.

i have mine shoved up into the pass side fender well, zip tied for now, im going to put a piece of plastic or modify a hard plastic semi mud flap from napa to make a fender well . the snorkel works good, no water or lag issues, i can even go through an automatic car wash with no problems at all, if you need a pic ill try and post one.

Under my truck, the cleanest area is on the front side of the spare tire and above my axle. I took a piece of 1" wide piece of aluminum and drilled it front to back of the truck to my frame rail cross mounts. It was probably about 24" long. Then I used zip ties to hold the hose along that aluminum bracket. My filter is almost touching the spare tire and is almost directly above the center section of my rear housing. Doesn't get muddy or wet. Been there for about 5 months and I pulled my outwears cover off this week for the first time and it was just dusty, nothing else.

you might want to leave yor sock off, there is more power without the sock according to sts, nice mounting idea!
