Default STS and oil cooler ? Help

I was under my truck looking at the oil tap spot and there are 2 steel oil lines coming out of the top of it for the oil cooler but on the tranny side of the plate there is what looks to be a plug. My ? is can I just hook in it this or do I need to tap the bottom of the block off plate. If so how do you disconnect the steel oil lines?

I also have a drive shaft in my way should I take in down to do this?

do you already have the STS kit?

Your kit will come with an adapter like this:

hard to see it, but it will sandwich between the cooler lines and the filter housing.

I bought a used kit that was on a truck without factory oil cooler so I don't have an adapter.
I'm not sure what you’re talking about in the pic. are you running an oil cooler on your truck?
I wish I had my camera with me

From what i remember, trucks that have the oil cooler, you have to drill and tap the bottom of the oil line block. Its kind of a pain, cuz I don't think you can take it off, cuz the oil lines are welded to the block. I'm sure it will be easier if you take the drive line out. Then just use a 90* 1/8 pipe fitting to clear the drive shaft.

I think they changed that, not 100% sure though.
