Default Special Turbo Oil return fitting!

Don't know if this would work for us but I found this in the latest GM High Tech Performance magazine.
The one shown here was used on a Cobalt SS tubo install. I guess it's some to be patented one way flow fitting used by Hahn Racecraft. I looked on their site and saw nothing specific about it. Just thought I would share.
Has anyone used something similar?

Interesting I think we had a talk on here before about that type of set up. I am not sure anyone tried it, but I think your liquid level should be the same in the hose and the pan, not sure its patent worthy.
risky to tap an oil pan. wonder why?

I see a problem with the return line backing up because the oil is fighting its viscosity while it is trying to drain. With a very thin oil in warm temperatures it would possibly work better, but on cold start up in the winter I would be worried.

Yeah everyone I have ever talked to says to make sure the return is above the oil level in the pan so there's no restriction. That looks like bad news.

All things I know be be true as well.
Wonder what if anything is diffrent about this fiiting?? Maybe it was designed in a parallel universe where fluids have diffrent flow characteristics??

It would probably work well if they put the engine in upside down.

IMO, turbo oil return below the oil level pan line is bad. The ONLY way I would recommend a below level drain is if its positive displacement via a mechanical or electrical drain pump.

my return on the paxton vette is low in the oil pan without issues, of course the blower is mounted high on the top of the passenger head. Not sure if its different for blowers vs. turbos. I know the aps kit I put into an 06 gto drained back into the valve cover just under the filler neck.
