Default smoke coming from engine.

Alright today I noticed that there was smoke coming out of the filter that I have on the valve cover for venting. Not a lot of smoke but there was a little. Dont know what would cause this? Is this normal or should I be worried. Also pulled the dipstick and there was a little smoke coming from the dipstick tube as well???

Maybe just internal condensation burning off. How long did this last for? Mine used to do the same thing when I had the rocker cover vented to the atmosphere.

It is normal for a boosted app to have a little bit of blowby. How do you have your pcv setup? If its all vented like mine then you will see a little bit more than if you have your intake pulling a vac with a checkvalve.

Yup! Its your PVC setup. I had the same problem. I redid my catch can and it stopped. It was a white smoke coming from the valve covers.

No pics right now. But very simple homemade catch can. At first I had both valve covers going to the catch can and then venting to atmosphere. It was smoking. Then I took the filter off the catch can, then ran a hose to the intake. Problem solved. I have not installed the Turbo yet on the avalanche. When I do, that hose will go after the Turbo filter.
