Default Radix tuning wouldn't take??

Well I started doing the install this afternoon. I figure I still have two or three hours left of work to finish her up in the morning. My problem so far is that the Superchips programmer wouldn't tune it. It had an error code of 036 and I won't be able to get a hold of anyone there until Tuesday. I have a Westers tune in my truck now and I am going to get it retuned for the Radix on Monday. My main question is is this truck going to run ok to drive it a couple hours on the highway to get to where it will be tuned. I know I can't beat on it or anything but will it run ok if I baby it there??

Thanks for any help..

Bill

Did you remove the three fuses under the hood?Radio, info and amp.On my 04 you can't tune it unless those are removed. If you try it won't take and you get an error code.

nope.. I just tried to reprogram it before I started the install. I guess I need to read further in the instructions to do it right.. Thanks for the reply, I will sleep better tonight thinking that it is just a couple of fuses and everything will work out great.. lol

Let me know when you get her running. I just finished mine on similar truck and I am curious what your EGT's are. Did you put in any guages?

Well I guess since I have and custom tuned PCM the Superchips programmer wont work. The PCM has to be at stock settings first, so I am just going to make the drive to get a updated tune for the Radix tomorrow.
I don't have a EGT gauge so I can't compare with the readings you are getting. Time to get some gauges I guess...

I don't know if driving it without the Radix tune is a good idea. I just started mine, and moved it out to a parking space on the stock tune, and it was running REAL rich! Remember, the Radix kit has the bigger injectors that you don't have a calibration for in the tune you have now. However.......if you don't have any other options, I don't think it will permanently harm anything. Might throw a code, though.
