radix shift points??

i have left my shift points alone at this time. i have found out that if im running at a high rate of speed like say 75 mph the truck shift down at WOT and when the cov. lock up the rpms stay up around 4300 and the truck pulls it as off. but it you start form a dead stop after geting traction at around 45 mph the trans shift in to 3rd and when the cov. locks up it falls to 3500 or so and lugs the motor and has to clime up a good ways befor it pulles hard.
so what have you all found to be a good shift points for the most power?
P.S my truck pulles harder form 100-120 than it does from 65-100. i think i by moveing up the shift points it will keep the rpms in its power band..

The only way to truly determine best shift points is with dyno data or a lot of track time. I personally shift mine at 6200 1-2 shift and 5800 2-3. From what you are asking/describing though is more of a TC lock point. The nose over you mention sounds like the TC clutch lock and there is a lot of debate on whether or not to lock it in a WOT condition.

its to my understanding that the trans is like a heat pump and is just building heat in 3rd. so i try to lock up the cov in 3rd so its 1to1. if i shift it my self and hold every gear to 6000rpms than it feels faster and stronger to me. so im going to move 1-2nd to 6100, and 2-3 to 5800. and see what that will do.

yes thats were im going with this. im going to shoot a 100 shot on it and did not know were i should shift at. im think im going to shift 1-2 at 6100 and 2-3 at 5800 or so... not sure...

"TCC Lock During Shift
* TCC Lock During Shift: This switch determines if the TCC will remain locked during a shift. Note: This is extremely hard on the transmission and the TCC (if you enable this expect things to break). "
I don't lock my TCC till forth gear for highway cruise.

i talk to R.P.M trans. and they said that locking up the TC during a shift would not be good for the input shaft. but not to worry about that b/c my trans will handle a lot of stress and told me to give it hell
. it can handle it.
my TC lock up right after i get in to 3rd. and man it pulles like hell
