I can see it interfering with airflow a little, but if the restriction is not in the intercooler, it would just push a higher volume of air through a smaller opening. Once you hit the point where the clogged intercooler became the restriction, then you might start to lose manifold pressure.

If you look at the pics of the head unit it looks like the bypass valve circulates air from just below the rotors back into the intake piping...and as long as the meth was set to kick in under boost and not vacuum, the bypass valve would be closed anyway....unless I am missing something. I dunno, maybe it's not possible to make something like we are talking about, but I think this is good discussion about whether or not it would be possible.

 

So what type of coating is it and what is the job of the coating?
Is there a different coating that could be used, like lets say hard-coat anodize? Not the color pretty anodizing that is used to make things look pretty.

 

The coating is an abradeable powder coat (APC). It is there to take the clearance between the rotors and the rotor housing down to almost 0. the rotors actually "hone" or "wear" into each other creating a nice tight seal.

 

Dude, there's plenty of room there. Now, what's the heat exchanger made out of? Aluminum? If so, that poses a problem too.

 

Why does that pose a problem?

 

I would think that the meth would corrode it over time.

 

The heads are aluminum too, and nobody has had problems with the heads corroding that I have seen...

 

I can't imagine why you'd ever have issues with aluminum and meth/alcohol. Now nitrous on the other hand..."the Oxidizer".

So whatcha think, putting nozzles in the intake tracks or doing a dual nozzle scenario with the fuel injectors?

Meth corroding it is BS. Sprintcars and indycars run 100% meth for fuel on ALL aluminum motors with no corrosion issues.

And to add to this, you are talking about a very small about of meth and only in short burst. Its not there long enough to cause any harm even if it was that corrosive.
