Radix help! anyone opened the lower half?
#1
I really like seeing the big brown truck show up, but not this time. They packaged my Radix up to ship it to me, told not to package with peanuts. They packaged with peanuts, the whole lower section is packed with those damn packaging peanuts
. I used a vac to try and get 'em, looks like I did, but I really want to be sure I got all of them any ideas? If I open up the bottom half of the radix will I need a new gasket? Anything I should know about before I try it? Can I or should I try and blow air through the blower to get everything clear? Thanks, d

Yeah, you should be fine. Besides the long bolts that go into the cylinder head, there are 4 short ones that secure the two halves of the lower manifold together. After you split it apart, be careful with the gasket. Its not really a gasket, more of a plastic ring in the groove. Anyway, there will be at least one spot where magnusson used some silicon on that gasket. Clean that off then just add a dab of fresh silicon when you put it back together.

Thanks that makes me feel better, the trip from PA to WA was a rough one I can't believe how many of those peanuts packed into the Radix! What a mess. I'll take it apart today as I really want to get this on the truck.
Thanks again,
