Default Quick spool valve...does it work?

I've never run my T6 kit without it, so I don't know the difference. But we have a good comparison now The setups aren't identical, but skeptics should find it interesting nonetheless...

Setup without quick spool valve: 5.3, 212/212 112LSA, 80e w/ lockup, 4.10 gears, 28.5" tires, S475 1.10AR, on an eddy current mustang dyno 5300lb load, 12psi full boost

9 7 12 Dyno - YouTube
[not sure why the video won't skip to the right time..the dyno pull begins at 1:13]

Setup with quick spool valve: 6.0, 222/226 114LSA, 80e w/ lockup, 3.73 gears, 30.5" tires, S475 1.10AR, on an eddy current mustang dyno 5300lb load, 15psi full boost

I would say it does work, and well! Granted the setups aren't identical, but the truck with the smaller engine (chevyboy.520) has a pretty huge gear/tire advantage over my old truck, as well as a cam that breathes better on the low end which should help spool significantly. The quick spool valve setup still spools the turbo much quicker.

Just thought I would post up for anyone who was curious

Now if only someone would make one that doesn't cost a million dollars. If I went turbo that would be a must for sure.

Couldnt tell **** from the videos

Do this...get a log with the valve doing its thing. Then disconnect it so it is fully open and doesnt move, and repeat exactly what you did the first time. Export both files to excel and graph the relavent points for map pessure.

different block, different cam, different gears, different boost levels...

What are we supposed to see from this again?

Do what Atomic said, and there will be something to discuss. For now, pretty videos.

I figured wise minds might be able to extrapolate something from what I posted. I was wrong.

I watched both. Not sure. The first truck vid. 10-12second pull. 2nd truck vid 17 second pull.
I couldn't hear the quick spool valve difference.
Now taking All the hot air and forcing through a smaller hole. The air should come out is at a higher velocity. Hitting a smaller section of wheel. Since its hitting 1/2 the wheel does it have the same energy on the wheel? Not sure. Never played with a spool valve.

I would like to know what's the rpm difference. Between valve or no valve. Interesting for sure. Are the spendy?

In the first video the turbo is still spooling up halfway through the pull. Second video, its much quicker. Length of the pull wasn't the point; just time til it hits full boost. The difference is audible...maybe you need good speakers to hear it. You can hear when it hits full boost in the pitch of the whistle. If the audible difference is not enough, I will be putting my old turbo kit on another truck and dyno tuning it. I might be able to rig up some sort of pressure reference to hold the valve open out of boost to simulate no valve...
