quick PCV question

ok, I narrowed it down to two options.
1) Run a 3/8" line from each valve cover to a oil catch can. From the oil catch can, run a 3/8" line to the supercharger inlet.
2) Run a breather on each valve cover.
Which one would be a better setup.

When I do my setup I plan on doing something like #1 you have listed. I'm also putting a check valve in between the manifold and pcv valve for insurance. I think this setup is more beneficial since you're pulling vacuum in the crancase rather than just venting it which should lead to better ring seal from what I've heard.

I think #1 is a great idea also, but how much oil mist will be going back through your SC and into your cumbustion chambers?

I think Parish was going to run a line from the exhaust instead of the intake, that way the mist gets sucked into the exhaust instead. His set-up is turbo though, don't know how much mist will end up in the pipes or the exhaust side of the turbo. I don't think its really an amount to worry about, but wish I knew first hand.

If you make sure the air getting sucked into the inlet side of the SC is filtered, then you shouldn't have a problem with oil getting sucked into it.
I wish there was a way to do have it suck from the exhaust on a rear mount setup though.

Doesn't the pcv act as a one way valve. I have never tried to blow air backwards against it.

GM used a small orifice type on many truck engines as a half assed approach to stop oil blowing into the intake. It does help, it lets the engine breath in and out really, but that is not acceptable on an FI engine...trust me.
When you go to FI you have to put the check valve type pcv on the drivers side cover, the other has no valve at all.
The passenger side valve cover has a baffle inside of it to keep that sides vent tube, which goes to the TB, free of oil. It's just to burn the oil vapors coming from that valve cover, and keep the smell of hot oil vapors down.
I have mine vented to three cans to try and catch the oil before venting.
It works, but sometimes you can smell the oil vapors escaping the last can after a long full throttle run.
