Default question about meth kit

I'm not very experienced with water meth kits.

I just recently have built a friend of mine's '04 Regency RST. The RCSB version with the 4.8L. I freshened up the bearings, rod, main, and cam. Installed ARP main studs, and rod bolts. Installed a Desent size Comp Cam, and 1.75 ProMag RR's. Had the heads ported and polished, and revelved to the biggest valves that the seats would accept 1.95, 1.55's "I think". And put a Procharger D-1SC on it at 12 psi with a 3-Core inner cooler. It ended putting down 460 rwtq and 480 rwhp. Now my question is with this setup what would it gain with water meth? I know of the obvious that it would help a bit with the longevity of the engine. What could I expect to see with the water meth injection? What kit do you guys recommend? Thoughts on corrent set-up etc.? thanks for the input.

AlkyControl kits are quality units and Julio's customer service is top notch. As far as gains? Running straight meth will allow more timing more safely.

I second the AlkyControl kits. I am sure there are others that work well but cannot comment on them. I have no experience with them. I have had zero issues with my AC kit since install a little over a year ago.

Increased octane with methanol. Amount dependent on what percentage. I use 100% methanol. I have read 105+ octane rating on 100% methanol with 93 octane rated gasoline.

As far as setup. Map/boost referenced switch on which the alky control has. Many will say and I agree, as much methanol as you can spray without the engine bogging. Correcting the tune to maintain the proper AFR with the methanol. IMO 11.5 to 11.8.

Substantial cooling of intake charge. This along with the additional octane should allow additional timing compared to no methanol setups.

Helps keep intake, heads, cylinders clean.

I agree. Meth kits are worth the money IMO. Installed Snow Perf. kit in mine few weeks ago. Stopped my knocking on those warmer days.

We only use Alky control kit's with 100% meth. Power increase will depend on the tuning after.Just adding the kit will gain nothing without tuning.

I knew that I wouldn't get any gains without the tune. Just curious what to expect out of it with the tune. I'm pretty sure that the ALKY control kit is a decent amount higher than the snow kit. so my next question would be what's the differences in the to products is the quality different, or is there different styles to the kits?

I'gained 20-120rwhp with meth kit's.The good part is they make the vehicle more powerfull in hot weather.

Kit's -You can tell by the price. Snow kit's have plastic lines that like to shrink and obviously can break/cut on lines and can not run 100% meth due to the lower quality seals.Adjustability is alittle weal too. Alky C kit's run braided line's,backflow valves, better pump, more adjustability.

I've had a few Snow kit's fail on me,no Alky kit's have failed yet.
