Default Procharger Stage 2 bracket...any one replaced their tensioner with a HD tensioner?

I've done everything from Procharger on their Stage 2 bracket system that they have recommended....even put a 8.25" crank pulley with the 8 rib system and still losing boost (its up from 8 psi to 11 psi) and having some belt dust....I should be closer to 18-20 psi from estimate from Procharger with my F1x.

So, I'm looking at replacing their tensioner with a HD tensioner that will move and apply more tension in the upper rpm and maybe relocating a few idler pulleys for more crank pulley wrap and more head unit pulley wrap. The House of Boost kit uses a 38510 Gates tensioner...but it's counterclockwise in rotation tension. I'm needing clockwise in the same design.

Any one have this problem and put a HD tensioner on it?

No doubt you have addressed this, but is the crank pulley Keyed?

Try dayco 89442, that’s clockwise rotation with a 39.25mm wide pulley. I use dayco 89440 on my 12 rib setup, but that is counter clockwise rotation. I think no matter what your going to have a hard time spinning that f1x on an 8 rib belt.

I tried to do a 12 rib but Nathan at Procharger assured me that the 8 rib would be just fine....

Not saying he was wrong but in the current configuration...it ain't happening. I made more boost with my D1SC but 11 psi on the F1x is a different animal.

I made a list of 46mm Gates pulleys..I'll check that one out though.

What bracket are you using?

I made the bracket and I’m currently designing a bracket to do a reverse mount.

I tried a gates tensioner first, but it kept twisting and throwing the belt. I swapped to the dayco and everything works as it should.

Out of curiosity, what intercooler are you running and how large is your piping?

All aluminum tig welded 3" with a treadstone 1245. I'm about ready to do a cog and be done with it but I know the HD tensioner will work if I can find the right tensioner.

I think I found one that will work....Dayco 89435 so I'm going to try it.

I'd like to add another idler pulley to the bracket....do you know of any with the correct spacing?

Piping and intercooler are a bit small which will only compound the slipping problem. So will an air filter that is too small or clogged. I would use a cog drive as a last resort. They can be just as much a pain to set up correctly and get the belts to stay on or not snap.

Procharger or bob at brute speed should be able to get you the idler you need, they’re all application specific.
