Default Procharger Pulley Swap

This maybe a stupid question, but its cool outside, very windy, and dark so I don't want to go outside to look. I just got my stock procharger pulley in today so I can swap it out with the 3.4" pulley on there now. How do you change the pulley? Do you just unbolt it and slide them on/off? Any tips?

They are keyed. You unbolt it and slide it off to remove it. You may have to heat it up and pry on it lightly if it is gauled. Add some anti-seize to the new one. When I went to change mine the previous owner had put lock tite on it!
BTW- sorry about not finding you those pullies, I still cant find the box they are in. Or my cam, springs, retainers, .........

No big deal on finding the pullies. Hope you do find all that stuff though.

I went out there this morning to unbolt it, as I tried to loosen the bolt the pulley turned along with all the other accessories. I attempted to hold the pulley with my hand and needless to say that didn't work so well. Any suggestions on getting the bolt loose?

A strap wrench works, or if you have the vice grips with the chain and an old section of belt. You can alo try wedging something between the belt and pulley to keep it from turning, depends on how tight it is.

Impact Wrench - for removal only. The strap wrench is another good idea.

I used the vice grips with the chain and an old belt. Worked like a charm. Thanks guys.

Yeah, that one is almost fool proof. Only problem is you need an old belt so you dont tear up the pulley. Glad to hear it worked for ya.

If you are talking to me, thats a negative. I just swapped the 3.4" pulley out for a stock 4.1" pulley. Belt slip was insane on the 3.4", I couldn't imagine it with either that you have. You could post them on ls1tech though, I am sure some of those guys are looking for some smaller pullies.
