What does your fuel system consist of? What kind of gauge do you have and how is it hooked up? If you are running off the factory regulator then you should see around 58psi at the rails.

My truck is a 08 5.3...my pressure guage is an autometer electric guage, it is connected to the fuel rail..as far as my fuel system I installed a aeromotive stealth 340 fuel pump..I replaced my oem pump with this one..i had to modify the module a bit to adapt the new pump..other than that that is all I've done to the fuel system..

does your truck have a inline fuel filter ? if so thats your problem i bet. same exact thing happened to me after i put my new fuel system in and i chased the problem for a couple weeks and ended up being my brand new summit fuel filter was clogged to hell . i removed the removable screen from the filter and bam instant psi change at idol and wot fuel pressure went to where it was suppose to be all over a dime size filter. wanted to shoot my self in the face after that , i even went to the extent of buy 2 new pumps even thou the ones i had in there were brand new, but i didnt think my filter would be clogged cause it was brand new too less then 5 miles on whole fuel system....
