Default possible to correct AFR by adding more boost?

I did a mail order tune after installing a new regulating spring in the wastegate, it was suppose to give me 8psi (which is what I told the tuner to tune for), but once I got everything together I'm not running exactly 8psi, probably 7.5psi. My AFR is 11.0 at WOT. I was wonder if I added a little more boost could I get a better AFR?

If you're running a MAF, then I don't think so. Never tried something like that though. I'm pretty sure you'll need to adjust the MAF table.

Try it? You will move to a different area on the fuel map, so it could get better or worse. If you have a manual boost controller give it a few turns and see what happens. Might want to check with Nelson though as you want to make sure your timing is in check to add the extra boost.

That to me does not sound like a safe alternative to fixing your problem. Like stated above it can move to different areas on the fuel and timing map and could make your problem much worse..

generally speaking, as boost is increased, timing is decreased, that is if timing is on the edge.
More than likely the timing I applied is on the safe side, so increasing boost will be ok as long as you get some feedback to me, from a scanner.
Increasing boost could possibly lean out the a/f ratio.
1-2 psi isn't going to hurt anything if you initially keep an eye on that timing.

I don't think you are going to get the results you are looking for. The MAF is a slope that gradually increases. As you increase boost, it will show more air is coming in, and move you farther up the slope. If it is a SD tune, it works basically the same way, so that won't help either. Does it always run rich? I would consider lowering the fuel pressure before increasing boost to lean it out. You shouldn't just turn it down either. It would be nice to know what your fuel trims are. Do you know exactly what your fuel pressure is? Ask Nelson what your AFR should be, and go from there.
