Pics of STS under hood ele. hookup
#1
Can some one post a clear pic of the underhood connections & at the oil pump. My oil pump seems to be running at wide open all the time... The STS pics in the manual are to poor to make out. Why can't they have a close up of the electrical connections. This shouldn't be this difficult to decipher.
thanks, mike
Holy crap my truck weighs in at 6180lbs witha full tank of gas & no peeps, Holy Crap!

Check this thread https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...&highlight=sts specifically post #6 or #7 by TG. He would also be a great contact for more info.

Depending on your truck, you have either one or two pressure (hobbs) switches.
Your oil pump should be in low speed when you first start your truck.
Then when you reach at least 1lb of boost, the 1lb switch activates and causes the pump to go into high gear.
You can test this by letting the truck idle, have someone close to the oil pump listen for it, then short the connections on the 1lb switch. He/she should hear the pump go into high speed.
If not, maybe the switch is bad or something is wired wrong. A pic will not help since the wires are inside of spiral conduit.
