A D1 will let you run a much bigger upper pulley for the same boost levels, less chance for slip that way. With a P1 on the Mustang, it took a 2.95" pulley, the D1 made the same boost with a 3.4".

I have owned both on the same exact truck and I would never put a p-1sc-1 back on.

The D-1sc was night and day difference even at part throttle.

Next on the menu for me is an F1 if I keep my truck long enough. It's all about CFM's and the d-1sc is a good step up from the P-1SC-1 especially with the fact you can run a larger pulley for same boost or same size pulley for most boost.

Good luck.

Todd at supercharger rebuilds does good work he did 1 of my d-1sc's and it was perfect. I'd use him again in a heartbeat. Very fast turn around.

IIRC, a new D-1Sc runs about $2900. You can have your P-1SC rebuilt and upgraded to a D-1SC for about $1400 w/shipping + another $100 if polished. A used D-1SC runs about $1,800-$2,000 and then you can sell your P-1SC and recoup about $1,000 of that.

John, I didnt know that the D1 impeller was not offered outside of procharger, but yes im all with you on the rebuilding part. If one feels comfortable doing the swap go ahead! but most could not do it.

Rick, Ahh I now see what you were talking about! thank you! however if I have to get it rebuilt i think i will opt to get the D1. I'll have two head units to play with and one is ready to go, so I might just throw the P1 on there and see what it gets me.

i talked to procharger rep at sema at the procharger booth about the whole upgrading from a p1 to d1 and he told me the d1 takes longer to spool but comes on harder at the end ??? everything you guys are saying is contradicting this , im confused??

Everything on the P1 and d1 are the same.. Other then the impeller wheels... The D1 is not rated to spin as fast as the p1 is, but will make more hp. def come in harder and a lil sooner then a P1.. I will post up my out look on it once I get my P1 off and the D1 on the truck.. D1 use a more aggressive wheel. Other then that the 2 are basically the same..

Regardless of what he said I've driven both and the D-1SC at the same boost level made MORE low end torque and felt like a ROCKET over the p-1sc-1.

That is straight from the *** dyno---I'd give you a print out but the paper got flushed!

What kind of boost levels did you achieve with both?

as far as the dyno, what were the hp numbers between the two?

were the same boost level run when dynoed?

Any track number between the two?

and were the same mods applied to both when ran on the mustang?

I am getting about 9-10 psi on a 3.5 pulley. I should be able to get that much using a 4.0 pulley on the D1..

oh wow i didnt know that much boost would come from a P1 with the 3.5" pulley. what kinda hp were you getting out of the P1? and what hp numbers are you expecting with the D1.

I know its not all about numbers here but i would like to flirt with ~500hp especially in a CC. so i can play with the cars!!

how much improvement are you expecting with the D1
