Did you use the factory map sensor that was on it before. Did it fit the same as the one Roush recommends? If so, then do we really need to change this out?

I did end up using the factory MAP sensor because my ECM was tuned for it. I will eventually have it tuned for the 2bar map sensor that Roush recommended, but not until Justin has a free EFI live cable to send me.

I rebuilt the tranny with pretty much everything possible, so it should take the beating. The G80 back there also seems to work smoothly. The trutrac will take its place eventually though.

Good question lol, no it did not. The new map sensor is a bolt on kind with a bigger insert. So my old one was just the clip on style with an insert too narrow for the bore in the intake manifold. Fortunately, the bolt for the new map sensor still holds the old one in place. And I just put some additional o rings on the old sensor to make it fit the size of the bore. Got about 50 miles on it now with that setup and no codes.

Here's a question for you, could you use the new map sensor and connector that is recommended and not hook up the 4th wire that is cut and spliced into?

Since that wire is needed for the new sensor, probably not. You can either use the old one with 3 and an ECM tuned for that sensor, or vice versa.

Well I'll probably do what you did since I already have my tuned ECM from Justin, and then wait for an EFI cable.

That's exactly what I'm doing. For the o-rings, they have them at checker...you just need to increase the diameter of the insert by a hair so it snugs up in the bore nicely. And the bolt will overhang the old sensor's clips to hold it in place.
Good for a temporary fix until Justin has some spare cables.

So I'm guessing the kit fit without a different hood? Roush told me you needed a different hood, I guess there wrong.

Nope, stock hood. There's quite a bit of clearance actually, I'd say 2 or 3 inches.
