Default Opinion on turbo size with short gears

I want to go to the next step which is boost. I have always been a turbo fan and have built a few 4cyl applictions/ z cars but never anything like what Im working with now. I have been looking at the 0n 3 70mm turbo with the .68 for a custom front mount on flipped manifolds. The following is my current setup and want to know if that turbo would be a good street turbo for 500tq.

Ext cab 4.8 4x4 heavy pig. 33-34.5 tire size when I make up my mind.
210/224 .556/.568 112 vvt cam
2800 stall in a 4l60e
4.88 gears

Thinking the smaller turbo with the .68ar would give me a better chance for spooling with my gear ratio. Right now 1st gear is pretty easy to roll through but 2-3 still has a good amount of load on the engine due to the weight of this beast..

So you can see the load on truck

You have enough tire and weight to load up that turbo plenty fast with a .96 ar housing. I wouldn't get that tiny .68 housing.

I would stay away from on3, they have been very hit and miss lately. Call forcedinductions and get a T4 S475 with a 83mm turbine and 1.10 ar. You will love it!!

I was looking at on3 because of the price but I get a pretty good deal on a Turbonetics so that would be my second choice.

That turbo would be really fun and light off pretty fast. How much can you get it for?

The .68 ar would be way to tight for front mount.
Like others said .96 us a better option.

I would suggest a s300 size turbo for that kind of application too. Spool would be similar with something like a 70/71 .90 ar Borg warner. Would be a lot of fun
