Just saying i see it all the time.
i remember the good ole days of breaking 4l60s left and right for 13 months. Its fun when you spend several thousand on a built 60e and after you break it the warranty is void for some reason and you have to go spend more money..
Did the 4l80 swap and put 340,000 miles on it without a issue with a turbo 6.0.

V8 to V6? I'm joking.
A coworker/friend had his 6 speed rebuilt recently at Phoenix Transmissions based on recommendations from guys here. Just a standard rebuild for a daily driver truck, but seems like they do real good work.
The issue with an on-line retailer is that you are at the mercy of the warranty from them if the unit fails. Shipping and waiting for them is going to put your truck out for a month.
What kind of power are you putting down?
If you have the time, space and interest, maybe consider learning how to rebuild them yourself. Huge learning curve, but can save you thousands. Build yourself an extra unit and have it ready if one fails.

very good advice. I can either have someone build my stock unit or purchase a built unit from an online source.

I use the performabilt stage 3. Dyno'd 500 WHP and 530 WTQ, 4x4. Launches great, absolutely no issues. Nearly 20k miles on it in the last year. I can't speak highly enough of this transmission. Mine is 4l70 based, but according to them that makes absolutely no difference.

sounds good. I’ll definitely consider your advice. So many to choose from but can only pick one
