Default non intercooled hp?

Ok so I searched and couldn't really find anything. I have a 00pic silverado 4wd with the 5.3 in it. I just installed a rough country leveling kit along with some aftermarket wheels and 35" tires and it feels alot slower. So I was planing on putting. A non intercooled kit on. Probably piece together a trick performance one with an mpt70. So how much boost can you run with no intercooler? How much hp do they make? Also will a mail order tune be for for now? Future plans include a 4l80e conversion. I use the truck as a daily driver and occosionaly tow a 3500lbs4l80e trailer. I was hoping for 400hpyou non intercooled and no meth if possible. Thanks

You might get to 400 if you install a turbo cam and actually go to a dyno tuner. The most boost you would want to run would be 7lbs without an intercooler. It would take forever to get your tune dialed in with a mail order unless you actually own EFI live yourself.

why not just install some gears for a couple hundred bucks to gain the power back that you lost instead of spending $4,000+ and still have a little missing power becuase of lack of gear ratio?

Hitting 400 shouldn't be a problem. As mentioned above, gears would be a wise investment, especially considering the high first gear in the 80E when the swap time comes. Gears would cost more than just a coupe hundred bucks, but it is worth it.

It depends on the fuel you plan to use. I run 8lbs on 91 octane and 14psi with my meth kit on my 6.0. On my 4.8 I ran 12 psi on 91 and 18psi with the meth kit on. My 4.8 put down 547hp and 597ft lbs. I would install a meth kit over an air to air. On race gas i can run the high boost without the meth.

On your 4.8 that your running 12 psi that's non intercooled with a method kit right?

As far as the no Intercooler reason is because I was going to wait till trick did one of his specials of 1800you for the kit. Also I already have some 60lbs aftermarket injectors and a fuel pump. Just going to probably need a tune. So im leaning toward a non intercooled kit with a shot of meth and run about 9 psi. That should get me to 400whp. Were do you buy meth at?

I would never do a non intercooled kit. We just did one on a buddy's truck, on a 0-70 run IAT's are already in the 170's on a 75 degree day. Truck has a stock 6.0 with an mp70 front mount on 6psi, power is ok out of the hole, but it falls off very fast. We put an intercooler on it a week later and its a night and day difference. I can promise if you go non intercooled, you will be adding one very very soon. I started out with a kbracing intercooled kit with a TC76 turbo, ran really good on my 6liter/crew cab truck and now runs 11's in my rcsb/bone stock 5.3 at 11psi. Its worth every penny of what the intercooler costs.
