Default new to turbo's

Does anyone know of any threads already been started that breaks down the turbo system with all the parts used and the purpose of them? if not could someone chime in and explain. Thinking about putting a turbo on my 05 5.3 and just would like to get a better understanding of the system. Such as wastegate, intercooler and so on. Thanks guys

engine
exhaust manifold
waste gate - bypasses some exhaust around turbo to control boost
turbo - compresses air
intercooler - cools compressed air
blow off valve - relieves excess pressure in between the turbo and throttle body when the throttle is closed

thats a real simple run down of the main components of a turbo kit
