(New Guy) Looking to twin my 5.3 need advice
#1
Completely stock (as far as I know) 5.3 with 706 heads. Came out of a 2002silverado with undisclosed mileage. That's all I know for now.
I'm looking to buy a used turbo kit for $700 includes: turbo headers for an ls motor a 50 mm tial blow off valve, and 2 each 46 mm tial waste-gates.
1-Is this good price for the headers and goodies
2-Better to just go single turbo?
3-What are some good cheap turbos for this set up?
4-Any performance mods that will have to be done to the motor?
Tranny can only support up to 500HP so that's my max. I don't need huge power just more that what I have now, and quick spool time is more important then larger top power.

Sorry for all the newbie questions but:
1-So if a single can get me to 500hp is that a better, more efficient way then twins?
2-Also what are some good cheap turbos for this set up?
3- Any performance mods that will have to be done to the motor?
Need to keep it light too cause it's getting mounted in a buggy.

trick performance or kb racing are both site sponsors and have great kits to achieve your goals!!
a good cam and valve spring upgrade would make everything way happier but isnt 100% necessary...

It would be easier to do a single setup and the weight would be way less not to mention it would be WAY cheaper to go single than twin that could get expensive. Go to the project section and read up on turbo builds it would give you a better understanding on how to get started

agree, single is the way to go. trick or kb racing 70mm kits are priced good and should spool fairly quick on 5.3. fuel system will need some attention. pump and injectors. areromotive 340 intake and 60#inj will do the trick. would highly recommend cam and spring swap also.
