That depends on the grade of S/S being used. Which brings up the next question....what kind of S/S do you guys use and what kind of rod for welding?

Trickperformance - you sound like you guys got it going on and are very interested in customer feedback and letting everyone know what's going on! I like that. This kit is at the top of the list to force feed the 408 when done.

I have a question?? I just purchased another Silverado it is an 06 LT with the 5.3. My questions is I just purchased and installed LT headers on it. Is there no way you can use them with the TURBO? I see in the instructions it states that the one side keeps the header and the other uses the manifold? Can you not use the header for both or make it so that you can?

Hope I made sense here?
long tubes are a bad idea for turbos, you either want the log manifolds that come with it or use the stock ones. the iron manifolds stock hold in alot of heat and heat is energy. LT's are good for a SC but not so favorable for a turbo from what i understand. if you want this kit, im sure it wouldnt be too difficult for you to sell your LT's on these boards

Thank you,

Sorry but, for right now the LTs would have to come off and reinstall the stock driver side manifold.

If a 100% stock 5.3 is used, are the stock injectors adequate? Fuel pump?

What is a realistic life span of the tubing?

I live in Canada, east coast. The winters can go back and forth between freezing and thawing with large amounts of salt added to the roads.
Around here there is a market for used oil pans if you get my meaning.

What would be better, the .065 SS or a little thicker mild steel with ceramic coating?

Large injectors are a must, the fuel pump well that depends on how hard you want to spin it. Right now my 6.0L is using 42lb injectors, and the stock pump.
Ralisitic life span of tubing, too many variables. But I would say you would sell the truck before the tubing had to be changed if ever.
Stainless steel in my opinion would hold up better then coated mild steel in those conditions. The coating over time will flake and it only take a little scratch to allow the salt water to attack the tubing.
Now we could do a stainless coated version for you.

304 seamless tubing, and I beleive the rod is 308. we use a sular flux on the id to help any scaleing or burn throu you may have seen on other pipes. YOu know that really rough volcano rock look you can get on stainless.
321 is an option but cost quit a bit more.

Nice to hear. Customer feed back is really important. The customer knows what they want, and I want to be able to give it to them. With the 408 do the 76 intercooled set up, or meth.

From a fellow fabricator.. and many turbo headers behind me.. you guys did a really nice job for a simple kit hat's off. Very similar to the design I kina have in the works but have little time to finish it.. the only diffrence I have is the Dp ties into the stock silverado ss style large flange or the outer pipe and the WG dumps into the smaller 2.25 pipe the ss' use.. just a thought for yah if you look to make a " bolt on style " kit for the abilty to use the cat back.. but really real nice guys.. and the Filler rod is a 308L for both 304 and 312

Here's an intercooler setup we did for a customer. It' still in the preliminary stages.

Intercooler Pics

The intercooler is a bar and plate design, capable of supporting more than enough HP for 99% of us.
The piping will be coated mild steel. This setup has the maf delete because we're going SD.
The turbo is a 62-1 Turbonectics with a .96 housing.

This truck will be done next week. We'll post up numbers and data.

thanks,
allen

I don't think it will be an issue at all. The GN guys have been removing the support bracket for the turbo for years, I have yet to see ONE cracked turbo manifold on a GN.
