OK,so I was thinking why have I never seen a turbo and supercharged engine? If you could build an engine to hold up to massive boost levels would this work, there must be an easy reason that it is never ever ever done. just me thinkin again......

I was also thinkin the same thing, like a radix and a sts turbo, seems like it would work, not sure how the engine would hold up though

Do a search on the internet regarding twin charging. This has been done plenty times before, and it usually leads to an overly complicated setup that ends in

It was built, and got great gas mileage, and pretty decent power, the way they had it set up was the super charger provided all the low end power untill the turbo hit a certan psi then a valve switched over and the blower just pushed hot air and the turbo did the work. But no, both compressors were not powerin the motor at the same time.

This has been done many times, I have seen hotrods with a big blower and a twin turbo setup on them.

Info on the VW system:

Direct Injection gasoline 1.4L combining both a turbocharger and a roots-type supercharger. Called the twincharger.
168hp at 6000rpm
max torque is 177 lb ft from 1750 to 4500 rpm
Max boost is 36psi
found in the Golf GT model

If I can get my hands on a side mount Magnachager, I'm going to try it with my STS. Anybody got one laying around?
