Need some help deciding F1A vs Turbo
#1
I have a 2008 Tahoe that came originally with the 4.8. I bought a trick stage 2 kit over 3 years ago, ended up installing a meth kit, fuel system, and Jake's 4l80 swap. I ended up making 520 rear wheel with the converter unlocked. On the way home I ran out of fuel and blew it to pieces.
To replace the 4.8 I called up Brian at LME and had him build me a complete 402. 9.5:1 compression and also got the cnc'd LSA heads. It was built to go turbo and no expense was spared.
I had some things come up that prevented me from finishing the build, and it has been naturally aspirated ever since. However I am now ready to finish it out. My only problem is I can't decide between an f1a and a billet wheel race cover s480. My power goals are ~800 rear wheel. This truck has a circle d stall that I can foot brake to about 3200 RPM. The truck is currently still a 6 rib setup. I have never had any type of supercharger and I understand that prochargers like rpm's to make all of their power. How much power could I make if I stayed 6 rib? Roughly how much boost would I be seeing? If I did swap to an 8 rib setup would this allow me to max out the procharger without belt slip? How much boost would I be seeing with the procharger around 3500 rpm to 4000?
I know I have lots of questions, but it's only because I have never had a procharger before so I'm not sure what to expect. I love turbo all the way.... but I also love the exhaust setup now on this truck and would hate to throw it all away. The simple install of a procharger is also what interests me. The fact I'd still easily be able to reach my plugs really leads me towards the procharger as well.
Rick@Trick has had so much work lately it has been hard to contact him. I was ready to purchase a kit for this new motor about a month ago but I never got a call back after multiple attempts. My total for the turbo would be around 4200 since I still have my old cold side, the total for the procharger would be around 4000 however I saw an 8 rib setup for 750 in the classifieds that would help me with belt slip if yall think it is necessary.
Let me know, I appreciate everyone's help in deciding. This truck is purely for fun on the street, I am aware I'll never be able to make a 6500# truck "fast".

i was in the same situation little over a year ago between f1r and turbo. the 8 rib will be barely good enough for a f series blower , 6 rib would be stupid to run with it and procharger recommends cog drive . i had a D1 with a 8 rib set up and the belt situation was a nightmare getting everything to line up perfectly. i actually bought a f1r but never installed it because i knew it would just make it worse and i about pulled the trigger on a cog drive set up but everything would have to be relocated and decided against it. so i sold the whole procharger set up and went s480 turbo and i can honestly say i would never go back . i was running a D1 at 22psi and this turbo at 18 psi is making probably 150-200 more hp then the D1. with that said if your looking for anything north of 650hp i would go turbo IMO unless you got deep pockets for a proper supercharger set up.

It all boils down to knowing what your doing. You will like neither if you can't get it set up right.....hence the reason you have suggestions either way.
With the different brackets available today and in the right hands, and f1a would hit your goal......likewise with that turbo you mentioned.
