I'll start looking for an lq4. If the cam is ok, I'll look at a trunnion upgrade, oil pump and timing chain. Try to do the smart thing for a change. Lol! Like having a blower motor in a daily is the smart thing to do.

 

Hell they but blowers on cadillacs and grand prixs, why not on a truck???

What would cause the endplay to go in only 11k miles? bad build, something I did wrong on install or driver?

 

I know I'm late to the party, but I would probably swap cams. I think the gain in power would be worth while... just my opinion. I am a huge fan of Cam Motion for what its worth.

 

My vote would be for the build or something with the converter!

 

not for nothing but ive seen where someone has beat the harmonic bal. on and cause the thrust to get messed up

 

We pressed balancer on with correct tool. Don't remember shimming the oil pump but I was still on pills at that point. Converter worries me because I didn't check clearances between converter/flexplate when I bolted them back together but I don't recall anything excessive. I was clean by that time but it was early 2013.
