Default Need help with turbo selection

I have a trick stage 2 kit in my truck and fairly certain the turbo is bad lots of oil in intercooler piping. Its only a little over a year old and only ran 7 lbs. I need help choosing another turbo. Only interested in quality turbos. Somthing that will last more then a year of light use. There are to many for me to pick one out. The truck is getting a new engine soon and want a turbo thats best for it. 09 silverado 4x4 CC. will be getting 5.3 bored to 3.898 forged pistons, rods, stock crank, triple 12 cam, dod delete, circle D 2800, 4.10 gears. Looking for the 600 rwhp range but needs to be able to go higher. Just looking for a few good options that will work with my trick stage 2 kit and help me narrow it down. Thanks

I second this as well.

You will want it in a T4, the 83mm turbine will spool fast, but if you ever plan on going to a 6.0 the 87mm will carry you further. Whatever housing is fine, 1.1 or whatever it comes with.

The Borgs475 will not bolt right up. Borg s475 will require larger down pipe, larger air filter, different silicone to inter cooler pipe

Offered you to send that turbo in and for us to send into the rebuilder and see what's wrong.
Granted a 70 won't get you to 600. If it's not a turbo issue there would be a small fee in rebuilding it. And freights.

But if it's a turbo issue we would give you some credit on one of our 76/75.
CHODA made 630 and really hasn't pushed it yet. Comes with a 1 year warranty through magnum.

Didn't you have a turner issue in the beginning of your build?

Thanks for the info to bad it wont fit. Thats a good price turbo. Sending in the old one is not an option. I cant be without my truck that long in winter. I need to get a replacement first then send it in. I will look into the 76/75. The tuner melted a piston on the dyno when I first installed the kit.

I love this new turbo and your build is better than mine so I would say 700wheel is possible.

I believe the one I have is but the one in choda's vids is a magnum.

Does each turbo brand have its own style exhaust flange for mounting the down pipe? S475 is considerably cheaper then tricks 76/75. I dont mind paying more if its a much better turbo.

The T4 and T6 versions of bog wiener s400 have different style flanges.

The other thing to remember about the s400, it's a big turbo with heavier internals, slower spooling but probably more reliable. They're much more responsive when turned way up.

s475 with 83mm turbine will make 850 wheel.
