i got a plate from Trick that goes above the oil filter. but there are some lines above it and the plate he gave me does not have a fitting for them. so can i drill and tap that block? i will look more in to it tomm. but i did not know if this has come up in the past.

yes i have a oil cooler. and yes i have looked on the past post and everything i have found they dont have a oil cooler or they are putting on a oil cooler. i have one from the fact. and guess i need to tap the block below the oil cooler lines on a flat spot. i dont think it will hurt anything.

The older STS instructions had you drill and tap the OEM block in the bottom, 15/16" from the rear of the block, near the plug in the one in the picture above. Drill a 21/64" hole and tap to 1/8" NPT. Coat the bit in grease to hold the shavings. Start the engine for a couple of seconds to flush out any shavings. You can do it without the STS adapter but it is a hard place to work in if you are 4X4 like the one in the picture. I unbolted mine enough to flush it out with paint thinner (or varsol). The job gave me fits but I got it done and it has been fine for almost 4 years.
