im running 13 psi on my 5.3, daily driver. no problems. dont see any reason why you couldnt turn it up to 16-17 for a reliable setup. granted i have studs, head gaskets, lifters, springs

i'm running minimum 16lbs on mine thats completely stock other than ls9 gasket's, studs, and pac 1218 springs. i usually am at 18 lbs (reasons why i want a better boost controller) but i have been up to 24ish pounds a few times on a spike and usually around 22lbs more than plenty occasions. and this is a 4.8 that i will do pull after pull on. I have all the faith's in the world in this motor. (good thing i parked it for a while now so i cant go blow it up)

besides the point your motor can take it as is, but to be safe you are good not going over 15.
And what was your exhaust before and what is it now to make that much of a difference?

I bet those "stock" 4.8s didn't have 100% stock valve trains. Especially not DOD BS. Stock bottomend sure top end not so much.

Those 4.8L engines have lower CR than 5.3 and can take a lot of boost provided you have good fuel and good tune.

Stock valve springs are weak enough, once boost is added in they have a even harder time.

Jacks, you don't want that turbo anymore. Too much headache. You should just take it off and sell it to someone you know one town over, cheap. *cough *cough

Boost has very little to do in deciding if your engine blows up or not
