More boost needed - Edelbrock 1567 e-force
#1
(I posted this up at ls1tech but no replies....thought I might get some feedback here though....here's to hoping)
I'm looking to install a 3.5" pulley on a 2011 GMC Yukon Denali AWD 6.2 that has the Edelbrock 1567 e-force supercharger on it already. (The vehicle has 5,000 miles since the supercharger install, and 60,000 miles on the odometer. Currently running stock manifolds, cats, exhaust)
The vehicle has a 4" CST lift and 33" all terrain tires. It is typically driven at high altitude (3,500 ft)....so low boost is the norm.
Does anybody have any belt length/size info? Edelbrock tech support gave me the part # for the pulley, but wouldn't/couldn't give me any info regarding belt length....
I am currently running the Goodyear 4061187 belt with the stock pulley that came with the Edelbrock 1567 supercharger kit.
Also, I'll be in need of a tune....I have access to an EFI Live FlashScan V2 and can buy additional licenses but have never used it before and have no experience with EFI Live tunes. My understanding the AutoCal tune is what will get me the much needed additional transmission tuning though.
Any help or advice is much appreciated.
Cheers,

What size is the pulley that is on it now? Does that setup have any adjustable idlers? Can you post up some pictures of it so we can see what you are working with as for the idler and tensioner setup.

I'm not sure the size of the stock pulley...but it's larger than 3.5". Edelbrock sells pulley's that are smaller and recommended the 3.5" pulley for approx 1.5 to 2psi more boost than their stock e-force kit. Stock boost for the e-force kit for this vehicle is approx 5psi. But at my altitude I only run 4 psi max.
As for pics of the tensioner/idler setup, sorry I don't have on me...it's just a stock Edelbrock TVS2300 based e-force supercharger kit.
If anyone has experience with upping the boost of this kit on my application, please chime in. Thanks,

Well if you are adding 1.5-2 psi I bet your stock pulley is a 3.7
Depending on where your tensioner is at in its travel range your current belt may still be ok. You do not want your tensioner to hit its stop as that is usually when they will snap. The next shortest belt is a 4061178 and that may be to short. He is a link with some belt sizes.

Another thing you can do is if space allows you can swap a idler with a larger one to make up the difference. If you have a 90mm idler you can jump to a 100mm. There are numerous ways to archive the same result of setting the belt length properly. I am not real familiar with the Edelbrock kits so I don't know the exact setup.
