Just A Heads Up! I Was Tuning On The Dyno Today And I Ran Out Of Methenal, So I Decided To Run Denatured Alky & Water. I Lost 30 Hp! I Normally Run Methenal Straight. Big Difference. I Just Thought I Would Let You Guys Know.

Interesting. I ran denatured when I did a dyno run in the Typhoon (stock setup) and ended up 307hp/455tq, would have been interesting to see if it changed with methanol.
Do you normally run 100% meth or mixed with water?? I know that when I ran a mix, it didn't seem as strong, so I went to 100% and it felt better, not to mention I hit 26psi on 87 octane with no knock... (and yes, I normally run super, but it was just an experiment as to the effectiveness of alky injection vs. gas prices)

This is very interesting. Where you able to see why the power loss occured? Did you get knock? Did it alter your A/F? Did your IAT's rise? I havent tried to get the most out of running meth as Im still on the stock shortblock, but Im very interested as to why you lost so much power.

Well, I think it is because we tuned my truck origonally with meth 100%. (From what I understand), meth is better for fueling. Denatered is better for kr. Both cool Iat's very well. It just depends on what you need most. My maps where leaner with the denatured/water. I didn't use full 100% denatured alky though. That would be a good test as well. I used to have two typhoons and one syclone. I love those trucks. I will be getting another soon. Denatered would be great for those trucks, Kr was a huge issue with my Typhoon. I was going to use the aquamist kit on it, but I did not like the kit, I ended up saleing it.

What about a Denatured Alky and meth mix? I want the HP of meth but I have a huge kr problem.
I run strait meth now and my Alky kit is turned all the way up. The controler starts spraing a little after 1 psi, and I'm thinking about another nozzle. lol

Wow! That is alot of meth! My gain and intial are set really low. Nice video in your sig! I dont think you can mix them. If you have alot of kr, I would try 100% denatured alky. If you still have kr after that, it's must be false knock. They both help with kr, just one alittle better. That is what I have been told.

How lean was it on the denatured? On my Lightning there was just over a full point change in A/F when swapping from denatured to methanol, both 100%, no water. The methanol was leaner and required richening of the maf transfer to compensate. I could run more timing on denatured so I kept it that way, other than trying methanol a few times.
