Default LQ4 Plastic Air Duct

I am trying to avoid running electric fans on my 2500HD. On the cold side of my turbo setup, could I possibly use the plastic air duct off the throttle body in a forced induction setup?

If so, what is the downside to doing so?

For a Pressure tube?? No, it won't handle any kind of boost.

People have ran turbos with a mechanical fan, they run it over the alternator, but they might have 28" radiators. Why are you against electric fans? I run ebay 15" fans that cost me $70 and they have yet to let me down, except when I have a plow on
