Default LQ4 boost ?

After seeing some 5.3 and 4.8 live with 18-22 psi of boost, what can a stock LQ4 be run up to using 93 and 50/50 water-meth?

Yes, I have ridden in a newer GTO that blew up the first engine, then was replaced with a 100,000 mile junkyard LQ4, cam and front mount turbo that TJ tuned, It was at roughly 20 psi and kicking ***

The limit is the rods, the first engine bent the rods, but didnt hurt the pistons, its all in the tune for the most part.

That car runs 9.70's IIRC @ over 140mph.

BTW i see roughly 13 psi / spikes of 14, no issues.

You gonna turn up the boost?

My cam only lq4 saw 12.9 psi with no meth in 80 degree heat. (no KR) I am adding straight meth and shooting for 15 psi on low timing. 10's or BUST

My stock lq4 butted the rings together on number 7 at 18lbs on 91 octane, 11 degrees of timing. Intake air temps were 118ish, no water meth. Engine had 100k miles and crazy amounts of nitrous put thru it before the turbo.

Now I am at 9 degrees timing with some 101 mixed in and 2 steps colder plug and timing mark on number 7 looks perfect. So may have rattled it just enough to butt the rings up. Be VERY careful with timing. Mine did this and had absolutely no knock retard.

18 psi should be ok given your tune/ timing/ fuel is right on the money
