Default Little Help with 8.1 turbo

OK the Build

06 ECSB 8.1 with 6 speed Ally .

525cid , ATS trans , S400 BW , 700 whp and 900 wtq at 10psi [ mustang dyno ] on pump gas .. Traps 115 in the 1/4

The problem is under WOT the throttle stay's open when you lift ? Tial 50mm blow off . This is still the stock TB .. Also I get no tb codes ?

Has any one had this problem with say a 6.0 turbo and stock TB ?

Can not say I have myself, sounds a bit scary though. Do you have a BOV on this setup? I wonder if boost is playing a role in holding it open. Or it could be as simple as a ton of carbon build up holding it open too.

Very scary .. Feels like an air plane before take off .. LOL . Everything is brand new on the truck .

get an old carb spring and put on there. that should close it. lol

Kinda hard to do with DBW, lol. Seems I heard some thing about this a while back. If I remember right, it was with STS and there 8.1 kit. Their solution was to put a small air deflector inside the charge pipe to deflect some air down on the front of the TB blade. That would help it to start closing and then the air flow would do the rest. That's all I know...

oh dbw. mine is DBW and i don't have this issue. even after port/polishing the tb. maybe its week for some reason.


do you have another one you could try or maybe a buddies. might try having someone floor the pedal and watch it to make sure its not going past 90* open.

Brand new TB .. Cannot change the spring in side .

i meant is there another tb you could try. i understand that its new but i've never really heard of anybody having them stick open during boost.

how long does it stay open? have you data logged etc desired position to see if the thing is being told to stay open. is the fueling there for the position of the throttle? does it go lean when it stays open?
