The goal is to run enough gate that drive pressure will be real low but not so much that it totally bypasses the high pressure turbo.

Why not t4 with a quick spool? Would be a lot cheaper and less complex than making a compound setup work on a gas engine

Because a t4 won't make the power I want. My tc78 is a out out of breath as it is. It spool good but when towing a heavy load up a steep slow grade I had to drop gear pretty far to be able to keep the Tcc locked and build boost. It actually did pretty well but not as well as I think it could. I don't wont many more cubes I'm trying to keep mileage decent while not in boost. I think I can have cake and eat it too if I bake it correctly. If nobody ever tried anything new we wouldn't have so many 9 Second turbo trucks around.

Well mine only has a 77mm exducer and its great! But I know that turbonetics came out with a new turbo with huge turbines. Don't know the exact specs but maybe someone will chime in
