L83 whipple 2.9 question
It's my first time posting so forgive me if I'm doing this wrong. I have a 2014 gmc sierra with a 5.3 l83. I just ordered a whipple 2.9, long tube headers, catless Y pipe, ported throttle body, and a custom grind supercharger BTR cam kit with the dod delete. This is my daily driver but my question is, am I missing anything? Also was thinking about injectors since I like running E85. Thanks to all responses in advance!

Gonna need a huge fuel system and on an l83 that's a challenge. Might want to buy a smaller charger pulley and start figuring out belt length needed so you can start researching for your belt. If possible get a gates green back...

Before you do another thing upgrade to LT4 pump and injectors along with a (preferably) 38% fuel lobe but AT LEAST 32%. Above that you would do the fuel lobe with Lingenfelter big bore pump and FIC or Extreme XDI +30 injectors. The Whipple manifold will need to be clearanced to fit the LT4 pump. Also change the fuel pipe to connect the LT4 pump and Lingenfelter makes a high flow check valve as well. If you don't do the above the L83 injectors just won't allow E at all. The HPFP isn't AS critical but it's very important. Anything past the above you'll have to go to port injection in addition to. Have fun and welcome!

This is great, thank you all for your suggestions! Realistally my dream is to have over 500hp to the wheels, in everyone's opinion with what I have, stock fuel system, and either 93 or e85 is it achievable? My cam specs are 215/239 duration 621/629 lift 117.5 LSA and a 32% fuel lobe.

It's possible but your gonna have to make some boost and run 93. Need an overdrive pulley. What converter you going with?

With your mods 500 may work but I'd still do Lt1 Injectors minimum. . LT1 Injectors with your existing hpfp should get you to 500+ easy on 93. Keep in mind your ringlands will manage much better on e85 because of the cooling effect though. With that in mind just go ahead and spend a little more and do LT4 fueling, inj and hpfp, fuel line for the hpfp and high flow ck valve, 525 hellcat intank or dsx auxiliary low side and you'll be pain free up to 650 or more on E85. If you do this you'll save your engine in the long run without going forged. 550-600 a walk in the park reliably. 650+ if tuned well.
