Interesting results on boost psi
#1
Well I finally got my tvs 1900 on with new set up.
Last year was running 5 .5 psi with 1 5/8 headers /3.7 pulleysize/stock motor.
This year 1 7/8 headers , eps blower cam, dod/vvt delete. 3.2 pulley. Only runs 7.5 psi.
Does the cam and better exhaust really eat up that that much? Was under impression.1 on pulley is worth 1 psi.
The trans didn't like the ride home!

Mods after the MAP sensor will decrease boost, and mods before the MAP sensor will increase boost. Just because the boost number is not as high as you expected doesn't mean it didn't have the gains you hoped for. As said before, boost is just a measure of restriction.

Boost is related to the restrictions you have, the higher the restrictions the higher the boost. Since you added better flowing exhaust and added a cam, you have less restrictions now so you make less boost. The blower will flow the exact same amount of air at a given blower RPM, regardless of boost. The lower the boost seen by the blower, the higher the efficiency. So you're making power more efficiently now.

I lost about 1.5 psi when i installed my headers.
For the guys who dont know, Boost is a measure of restriction, When AKlowrider added a free-er flowing exhaust, he lessened breathing restriction and hence made less boost, but more quality power . Having 8-9 psi of quality boost is WAYYY better than 10-12 psi of more restricted boost If ya know what i mean haha...
