Default Importance of throttle body with Turbo

New truck has a DBW throttle body and I cant use my old 90mm cable throttle body. Is it important to have the 90mm on a turbo application or would the stock work just as good. I know it helps on the superchargers cause it draws air though it first but not sure if it's worth getting it with turbo.

Also does the texas speed 90mm conversion harness do the same as the Dr. X harness if I decide to go that route. Here is a link

#s in sig are with a stock throttle body and a very conservative tune. I will eventually crank the boost up and see what it can do. I think you will be fine with a stock one.

A turbo makes some of the traditional bottlenecks less important. Will a 78mm TB hinder a max effort? Yes, certainly. Do you need to spend a ton of money for your dd with boost? No.

Look at it this way. If you have heads, a freer (than stock) flowing intake manifold, great turbo cam, great exhaust, then it matters. Otherwise, no.

Ok, I sold my 90mm for $200 and found a TBSS 90mm for $100. Will the Texas Speed harness do the same thing as the Dr. X harness or not. I don't plan on spending $200 for a harness but would probably do the TX speed one if it works.

what size is your intake piping? 78mm is 3.07 inches. 90mm is 3.54 inches.. so if your intake piping is 3 inch I really dont see much of a gain going to 90mm tb. but hey what do i know..

That style harness is for vehicles originally equipped with the early style electronic TBs with the separate TPS and TAC motor connectors on the TB. Only 2002 trucks (and 01s with traction control) fall into this category.
