How much boost with 2300 and 6rib?
Just got done installing my front drive TVS2300 in place of the MP122. I have a 3.4" pulley now and am seeing 8psi. How far can I pulley down before getting into belt slip? I want as much as possible without fooling with more ribs. My MP122 would do 9psi with a 2.6" pulley and had no slip.
Motor is a forged HKE 6.0L LQ4. Livernois stage2 ported 243 heads with 215/227 .603/.613 116LSA blower cam. The motor will take it. I did do a search. If this has been beaten to death, please direct me to the thread(s). Help appreciated.
Also, any idea what my MP122 head unit is worth? Just the charger and three pulleys...no injectors. Has about 30,000 miles on it. It was running great when removed. It would get into boost way quicker than the 2300. You could go from 16" of vacuum to 6psi of boost by just tapping the go pedal.

I got a RIP pulley also for mine, I have had mine up to 10psi so far. I spoke with Joe concerning the same issue and he said he felt I would start having belt slip once I got to 11psi or so. At 10psi I had Zero belt slip judging by my HPT scans, Map KPA stayed dead solid at WO. If there was any tip in slip I couldnt tell. Are you running the Belt # that I gave you? Reason I ask is once I go lower then a 3.3 i think I may go with a hair shorter belt to try to keep my tensioner in the middle of its travel range.

i had slip at about 10psi.
if you do decide to go with a RIP pulley, be sure to upgrade to the Gates HD (green) belt.
now i am at 15psi. 8 rib 2.8-RIP 10%OD crank. front inlet front drive.

If my math is right, you're turning it almost 18,000 rpm at 6000 motor rpm. I'm guessing that's enough air to break lots of stuff With a 3.2" pulley, mine will be loafing along at about 14K blower rpm. That should be enough for me for a while....maybe.

Did it slip with the RIP pulley or the stocker? What size pulley was it?

i had slip with a stock steel 6 rib. it was 3.2 iirc.
i had a 2.8 on my 1900 at 8psi and had no issues.

Is there a worthwhile benefit to putting an 8-rib just on the blower snout and leaving the rest 6-rib? Say for example the 6 rib starts slipping at 8psi, if you put on an 8-rib with the 6-rib green belt would be able to get 10psi out of it then?
