Default Headers or not?

Does a STS kit work better with headers or would keeping the stock manifolds make it run better? Towing, mudding, demolition, and whooping that *** is the name of the game for this truck and reliability is a must as well so I guess i'm also asking which one is better on keeping the EGT down?

The consensus is that stock manifolds retain heat better and lead to better turbo performance.

i asked somebody at STS about this a couple years ago & they said to keep the manifolds. not only for the heat retention but the turbos are the bigger restriction, so even if you got headers & wrapped/coated them, the snails would still restrict the exhaust as much as before.
